Cylindrical roller bearings are easy to install and disassemble, especially when the inner and outer rings are required to have an interference fit with the shaft and the housing. This type of bearing is generally only used to bear radial loads. Only single-row bearings with flanges on both the inner and outer rings can bear smaller axial loads or larger intermittent axial loads. Compared with deep groove ball bearings with the same outer dimensions, this type of bearing has a larger radial load capacity and is also suitable for high-speed rotation from a structural point of view.
NU type cylindrical roller bearings have two flanges on the outer ring and no flanges on the inner ring.
N type cylindrical roller bearings have two flanges on the inner ring and no flanges on the outer ring.
NU type and N type cylindrical roller bearings allow the shaft to make bidirectional axial displacement relative to the bearing box within a certain range, that is, they can withstand the length change of the shaft caused by thermal expansion, so they are suitable as non-locating bearings. They can withstand large radial loads, but cannot withstand axial loads.
